Paramount pictures has released the first trailer for STAR TREK BEYOND, the third in the current series, which you can watch above.
It has been quite the week so far for dropping trailers with the release of X-MEN: APOCALYPSE and INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE already having already made digital waves in the last few days, it looks as if all the major studios are keen to get their previews circulating before the big sci-fi beast, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, lands on December 17th.
Many fans have been waiting along time to hear any information about the film, but much like the new STAR WARS movie, a lot of detail has been kept under wrap about the fate of the Enterprise gang, which will no doubt make the trailer all the more appealing to watch. What is certainly evident is that unlike the first two films, the focus doesn’t appear to be around Kirk and Spock’s relationship. From what we can see, KINGSMAN’s Sofia Boutella is kicking as a militant, we see a white-as-snow alien, and we get a glimpse of the film’s villain; a snarling, demonic-looking alien.
With Lin at the helm, JJ Abrams, who directed the last two films and STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, is producing the movie.
However, despite all of the appearances from various cast members, one notable face is absent from the trailer: Idris Elba. The star of LUTHER and BEASTS OF NO NATION has signed up to play the main villain of the piece. But maybe he isn’t missing..? Unless, of course, this could be him, the alien boss man in motion capture?
