Twentieth Century Fox has released the trailer for the highly anticipated movie, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, which you can watch above.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is the ninth film in the X-Men franchise, and the fourth to be directed by Bryan Singer. The film features a screenplay by Simon Kinberg, and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Olivia Munn, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Lucas Till, Josh Helman, Lana Condor and Ben Hardy.

Here is the official synopsis: Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X:Men Apocalypse

So, what have we learnt from the new trailer? Well, we meet some new faces, like Sansa Stark Jean Grey (GAME OF THRONES‘ Sophie Turner), whose psychic abilities have apparently picked up on something very unpleasant. Then we are introduced to Apocalypse himself (Oscar Isaac), via voiceover, setting up his “immortal god-like bad person” persona. Apocalypse was the world’s first mutant, he has bad intentions, and he is not wandering around alone… His crew consists of super-henchmen Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), and Angel (Ben Hardy).

After seeing all of the characters, the scenes then sweep along with an array of mutants, Apocalypse yelling loudly, and scenes of mass destruction – everything you would expect from a big-budget action franchise .
