Netflix has announced that Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave, Doctor Strange) is going the previously announced Matthias Schoenaerts, Luca Marinelli, Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne and Marwan Kenzari in the upcoming original movie, THE OLD GUARD.
Based on the graphic novel series created by author Greg Rucka and illustrator Leandro Fernández, The Old Guard tells the story of a small covert group of immortal mercenaries who must fight to keep their team together when they discover the existence of a new immortal and their extraordinary abilities are exposed.
Chiwetel Ejiofor is in good company for this one, as he will be starring alongside the recently announced Matthias Schoenaerts (Red Sparrow, The Mustang) and Luca Marinelli (Don’t be Bad, They Call Me Jeeg) will be under the direction of Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love & Basketball, Beyond The Lights).
They will also be joined by new cast members Harry Melling (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, The Devil All the Time) and Veronica Ngo (Bright, Star Wars: The Last Jedi).
On producer duties for this one is David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger for Skydance; Marc Evans and Charlize Theron, Beth Kono and AJ Dix for Denver and Delilah.

At this stage little is known about the roles of all of the characters just yet, but the movie definitely boasts an incredible cast and we can’t wait to hear more about the movie!
