The utterly brilliant Chiwetel Ejiofor (Twelve Years a Slave, Doctor Strange) will be playing the villainous role of Simba’s uncle Scar, and Alfre Woodard (Juanita, Marvel’s Luke Cage) portrays Simba’s no-nonsense mother, Sarabi. JD McCrary (Tyler Perry’s The Paynes, Vital Signs) plays Young Simba and Shahadi Wright Joseph (Hairspray Live, Broadway’s “The Lion King”) brings Young Nala to life on the big screen.

Brining in the love and humour to the movie is Seth Rogen (Sausage Party, Neighbours) playing the adorable warthog Pumbaa, and Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street, American Horror Story) joins the cast as know-it-all meerkat Timon.

What makes us even more excited about the movie, is the talent calling the shots off camera. In the director’s chair for this one is Jon Favreau, already known for his super work on THE JUNGLE BOOK.

The full trailer alone has already shown us that Disney have already created a live-action masterpiece that will definitely be bringing the goosebumps and tears. If you haven’t yet seen the trailer, then what are you waiting for?! Check it out in the video player below!
