Tom Hardy

New Line and Tom Hardy are collaborating in a new movie – 100 BULLETS.

The British actor, according to The Hollywood Reporter, will be producing the film and may also star in it as well. In the first move since taking oversight of DC Entertainment’s Vertigo comics line from corporate sibling Warner Bros., New Line is developing an adaptation of the acclaimed comic by Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso.

Hardy is no stranger to diverse roles having played villain Bane in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and he played Mad in this year’s hugely successful hit MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. It’s uncertain whether he will definitely be having a starring role, but it has been confirmed that he will be on producing duties for the adaptation alongside Dean Baker via the duo’s Hardy Son & Baker production shingle and Geoff Johns and Adam Schlagman are overseeing for DC.

The script is already in the works thanks to Chris Borrelli, whose credits include the recent supernatural horror movie THE VATICAN TAPES.

Azzarello and Risso’s comic series, which launched in 1999 and concluded its planned 100-issue run in 2009, tells the modern-noir tale of a mysterious man named Agent Graves, who offers carefully-selected candidates a briefcase containing a handgun and 100 bullets along with the promise that anything they choose to do with those bullets they can never be held legally accountable for.

Hardy will next be seen opposite Leonardo DiCaprio this autumn the awards contender THE REVENANT as well as playing both Kray twins in the period British gangster saga LEGEND.
