Following the release of the gripping new drama, the series will be available to buy on DVD and Blu-ray.

The Missing

Hard-hitting new BBC drama THE MISSING starring James Nesbitt and Frances O’Connor will air on BBC One on Tuesday night at 9pm in a brand new eight part series.

Nesbitt and O’Connor are the frantic parents of a missing child, and Tcheky Karyo is the detective assigned to their case, when five year-old Oliver disappears while on holiday in France. It is the beginning of a journey that will span eight years and two continents. THE MISSING takes you inside the mind of a father, Tony (Nesbitt – Cold FeetMurphy’s Law, Jekyll), desperate to find his lost son.

Told through a delicate and complex narrative that reflects the fractured and frantic battle for a lost child, THE MISSING is a thrilling and heart-breaking drama of a life consumed by hope, love, truth and obsession.

A gripping puzzle with twists and turns at every stage, Tony’s exhaustive search fractures his marriage to Emily (O’Connor) and threatens to destroy his life. Julien (Karyo), the French police detective who launched the initial search for the child, also finds himself drawn back into the hunt that he was never able to resolve when Oliver first disappeared.

Exploring the emotional cost of a child’s abduction, this gripping thriller is expected to become one of television’s biggest titles of the year – and even more excitingly, it will be available to buy on DVD and Blu-ray from December 26th courtesy of RLJ Entertainment’s Acorn Label following its run on BBC One, starting tonight at 9pm.
