Sherlock

We finally get to see a first glimpse at Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman on the case of a Victorian mystery in the first trailer for SHERLOCK’s holiday special, which you can watch at the bottom of this article.

The one-off special, which has been confirmed to appear in select cinemas, is not connected to SHERLOCK’S modern-day episodes, instead re-imagining the show’s beloved characters in the 1890s, as we could clearly tell by the official photographs which were released only on Thursday.

A day later and we are now also treated to SHERLOCK’s brand new teaser which debuted during a panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego. You can take a look at it below.

Co-showrunner Steven Moffat recently revealed that the decision to use a Victorian setting was based purely on his desire to see Holmes and Watson in their traditional era during the BAFTA TV awards.

Missing from the panel at Comic Con was the SHERLOCK cast members, but we forgave them for not being in attendance after taking part in this brilliant video message featuring Benedict Cumberbatch, Andrew Scott and Mark Gatiss. Take a look below.

We still have to wait before we get to see the full episode, as no air date has yet been set for the SHERLOCK special, although it is likely that it will be broadcast during the festive season – what a Merry Christmas that will be for us! As the ending of the trailer says: coming soon… ish!
