Sherlock

They’re back! Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman return as Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson in Victorian-era teaser photo of new series – and we couldn’t be more excited!

The hit BBC show is such a success, it was only a matter of time until production on a new series starts, it is as one would call it, elementary.

Now fans of hit series SHERLOCK will be delighted to see Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are back in the crime-fighting partnership once more and they’re looking rather dapper!

Dressed in Victoria-era clothing, a snapshop preview of the new season was unveiled by the BBC on Thursday, as preliminary promotion for it begins.

Dressed in classic three-piece suits, the critically acclaimed actors cut dapper figures in the image, which sees them share a green leather arm chair.

Looking deep in thought, Benedict, can be seen in a pinstriped trouser with a crisp white shirt as he stares into the camera.

Meanwhile, Martin – who perches to his right – sports a houndstooth suit and handlebar moutsache, complete with pocket watch.

Very smart indeed!

The photograph – the first official image of the forthcoming series – was later followed by the above teaser snapshot.

This has proven to be excellent timing as the show’s creator, Steven Moffat, joins producer Sue Vertue and co-star Rupert Graves in California to attend this year’s San Diego Comic-Con and no doubt their attendance will certainly drawn eager crowds desperate to find out more.

From what we can tell from the shots, it confirms what has long been predicted: that the present-day adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle‘s franchise will step back in time for the special episode, which is expected to air around Christmas time. We know, there’s still so long to wait!

The upcoming series of the popular show, which was created by Moffat and Mark Gatiss, is set to be ‘the most shocking and surprising series of Sherlock yet’ according to the BBC.

Of course, it’s far too early to say what’s coming, but we’re reasonably confident that the very next thing to happen to Sherlock and John, is the very last thing you’d expect,’ Moffat revealed last year.

A fourth series of SHERLOCK comprising of three episodes is expected to follow suit in 2016.
