Sam Mendes

Sam Mendes has sadly announced he will be stepping down from the director’s chair of the James Bond franchise.

Mendes did previously go on to say SKYFALL would be his last movie, only to return three years later for the release of this year’s SPECTRE, so who knows whats in store? However, he did go on to explain that the plot behind SPECTRE made his exit much smoother.

This loss leaves a huge gap for the new director to fill with the 25th Bond film just around the corner, leaving a lot of stones unturned.

Mendes has been quoted as saying: “There is a sense of completeness that wasn’t there at the end of Skyfall, and that’s what makes this feel different. It feels like there’s a rightness to it, that I have finished a journey.”

SPECTRE has earned approximately $80.4 million in the box office and has generally received positive reviews within just over 2 weeks of its release.

However, as for concerns over Daniel Craig’s future as playing Bond, the actor has recently been quoted as saying: “The simple answer is: I don’t want to think about it… Maybe I’ll make another one, I don’t know.”

So whats next ? We can only wait and see…
