Chris Hemsworth has been a busy man of late with promotions for AVENGERS: ENDGAME and the upcoming MEN IN BLACK: INTERNATIONAL so it may come as no surprise to hear that there has been a bit of a bidding war for his upcoming movie, DOWN UNDER COVER.

With interest coming from multiple blockbuster studios such as Sony, STX, Netflix and Lionsgate, Deadline is reporting that Paramount Pictures has successfully won the worldwide rights to the movie which also stars Tiffany Haddish.

Chris Hemsworth Down Under Cover

DOWN UNDER COVER is said to be a cop comedy drama, which will still have to wait a while until production commences on the movie, as Paramount are reportedly going to start the film’s production in February 2020.

For Chris Hemsworth it will be great, as he will be reuniting with Anthony and Joe Russo the Avengers: Endgame directors, who are going to be calling the shots on this movie too.

Here is the official synopsis for the cop comedy movie: “Hemsworth will play a detective who goes undercover to crack a series of baffling casino heists in which the prime suspects are a troupe of Australian male erotic dancers. He’s forced to take the partner no one else will — Haddish’s character, a lone wolf who does things only one way: hers. Together they have to work as an unlikely duo to solve the crime of their careers.”

The film will be produced by Hemsworth’s production company Thematic Entertainment with Haddish on double duty as she will also be serving as a producer.
