The ASSASSIN’S CREED casting ensemble is beginning to take shape now that Marion Cotillard has signed on in a leading role alongside Michael Fassbender.
Deadline are reporting that the actress has signed on the dotted line for a role in the live-action adaptation of the Ubisoft video game, but no specifics have been released as to who she will be playing. However, should the Justin Kurzel-directed film prove popular at the box office, then we will certainly be seeing a lot more of her and her character, as the role is set to recur over numerous films.
It’s not the first time Cotillard and Fassbender have worked together, as the duo have just completed work on MACBETH where Cotillard plays Lady Macbeth and Fassbender is her doomed husband. The classic Shakespeare play has been adapted onto the big screen by…. Justin Kurzel. So it seems that the director is not bored of working with the two actors then…
Production is set to commence in the autumn, with ASSASSIN’S CREED hitting US cinemas December 21st, 2016 and it arrives in the UK December 30th, 2016.
