Jennifer Lawrence

It seems that we may see Jennifer Lawrence and Steven Spielberg unite in an upcoming project with the actress taking on a role in a new war film.

According to DeadlineWarner Bros is set to close a deal for Lynsey Addario‘s memoir It’s What I Do: A Photographer’s Life of Love and War, where the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, shares her experiences from within Afghanistan after 9/11 in the memoir.

The film sounds like it will be heart-wrenchingly relevant as the journalist looks into how Afghans suffered during moments such as the Taliban regime and the Iraqi War, and also reveals the terrifying details of the time she was kidnapped by pro-Gaddafi forces.

With such true life horrors to be told, it is easy to see why the film has created a bit of a bidding war between distributing companies as Working Title and The Weinstein Company have reportedly been vying for the novel’s rights after an excerpt was featured in The New York Times Magazine.

Should Warner Bros be successful in their pursuit of the film, we will see Andrew Lazar on producer duties alongside Spielberg.

No doubt this film will generate a lot of buzz and we will keep you updated with news, casting and more information as it becomes available.
