Directer of DALLAS BUYERS CLUB, Jean-Marc Vallée is set to helm Amy Adam in new Janis Joplin biopic!
With films like THE YOUNG VICTORIA, DALLAS BUYERS CLUB and new movie WILD under his belt, we’re not surprised Jean-Marc Vallée is set to take on this awesome new project.
Vallée broke the news himself when speaking to Metro in an interview. The project is set to be an independent production with a budget of just $15-20 million.
The project was originally meant to be taken on by PRECIOUS director, Lee Daniels but it seems he’s become unavailable, making the role free for Vallée.
Vallée will be taking his Oscar nominated writers Craig Borten and Melisa Wallack with him for this Joplin journey.
Playing the musical legend will be the wonderful Amy Adams who’s going to be singing all of Joplin’s songs herself.
Adams is definitely a woman on top right now with big roles in BATMAN VS SUPERMAN and Tim Burton’s BIG EYES in the near future.
