Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the cop-comedy created by Dan Goor and Michael Schur (PARKS & RECREATION, THE GOOD PLACE), has been cancelled after five seasons, FOX confirmed today.

Released in 2013, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE starred Andy Samberg as Detective Jake Peralta with Andre Braugher as deadpan Captain Raymond Holt and a detective force including Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Stephanie Beatriz, Chelsea Peretti, Joel McKinnon Miller and Dirk Blocker.

Despite the sitcom’s popularity, its ratings dropped this season with 2.7 million viewers per episode compared to season four’s 2.9 million. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter last year, Samberg discussed ratings:

“I feel like the way TV shows are measured has changed a lot in the last five, six years,” He continued, “There’s so much more expansion in terms of streaming and DVR and International. From the way that it’s explained to me, we are doing an actual really good overall number in terms of how many people on this Earth see our show each episode by the time it’s done running through all the different systems.”

The season five finale which will now become the series finale airs on May 20th and will see the marriage of Jake (Samberg) and Amy (Fumero).
