Emma Stone has been named the highest-paid female actor in Hollywood according to Forbes’ annual list of top earners.
This may come as no surprise as the 28-year-old made $26m in the last 12 months, after a sublime award season and box office success with her Oscar-winning performance in the musical romance LA LA LAND. The movie was a huge critical and box office success and raked in an impressive $445m worldwide.
Emma Stone can next be seen on the big screen in BATTLE OF THE SEXES, alongside Steve Carell. It was revealed this week that the true-life tennis drama will receive its European Premiere at the London Film Festival in October.
It may come as somewhat of a surprise to learn that Jennifer Aniston, who has had somewhat of a quiet year in movies, was in second place on the list with $25.5m. Most of her earnings have come from her endorsements with SmartWater and Emirates airlines.
Jennifer Lawrence was last year’s number one, but this time around she has dropped into third place with $24m. The year she topped the list, she earned $46m, but the drop is due to her making slightly smaller films, such as Darren Aronofsky’s horror MOTHER! and the spy thriller RED SPARROW.
In fourth and fifth place on the list are Melissa McCarthy and Mila Kunis respectively.
Joining them in the remainder of the top 10 is Emma Watson, Charlize Theron, Cate Blanchett, Julia Roberts and Amy Adams.
