Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt have already filmed a movie together before in Jungle Cruise
It seems that Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are going to be reuniting on the big screen once again for a new movie, BALL AND CHAIN.
Johnson and Blunt have worked together previously on JUNGLE CRUISE, which is still waiting to be released like many Hollywood movies due to the COVID-19 pandemic at the moment and that won’t be hitting the big screen until 2021.
In their new movie, BALL & CHAIN they will take on the part of a quarrelling couple who receive superpowers. The premise of the film may sound familiar and that is because it is based on the four-part comic book published in 1999. The screenplay is being penned by Emily V. Gordon, who co-wrote THE BIG SICK.Â

The movie tells the story of Edgar and Mallory Bulson, who have decided to call their marriage quits. Separation is all but certain until a mysterious meteor bathes the battling couple in extraterrestrial energies that give them super-powers. The only catch is they only work if they can learn to put aside their differences and work together.
According to Deadline, there is a huge bidding war for BALL AND CHAINÂ and many studios are interested in the project. It is also being reported that netflix are the frontrunners for the movie, ahead of the competition. Â
No doubt over the coming weeks, we will hear confirmation of which studio will have the rights to the project and more information about possible production dates. Either way, we will have to patiently wait to see Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt’s first movie together until July 30th, 2021 when JUNGLE CRUISE is scheduled for release.
