Dan Stevens and Luke Evans Joins The Cast Of Disney’s ‘Beauty and The Beast’

Several weeks ago we reported that Emma Watson was cast as the heroin Belle in Disney‘s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and we were looking forward to finding out who would be cast as the Beast and the terrible Gaston to complete the three main characters.

Now it seems like they’ve found them both in more of Britain’s finest talent as DOWNTON ABBEY‘S Dan Stevens has been cast as the Beast and THE HOBBIT star Luke Evans as Gaston.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, both have been in final negotiations for the roles. News has it that Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne was offered the role of Beast but turned it down, leaving it open for the talented Stevens. 

Both actors have proven their talent both on the silver screen and in feature films and look like brilliant choices for these famous characters.

With DREAMGIRLS Bill Condon set to helm the project, production is set to start this year with a release date yet to be confirmed by Disney.
