X Files

Exciting news for fans of the original TV series THE X FILES, as TV Wise have reported that Fox are close to granting a green light for a new series.

It is the not the first time that the rumour mill has gone into overdrive with the speculation of a new series, but now with reports claiming that Fox executives have decided to give the go-ahead to a “short stack” series order, thought to be less than ten episodes, it all seems very positive.

The heroines of the original TV series Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are rumoured to be thrilled at the prospect of another series after all this time and Duchovny even hinted back in January that he would very much like to have a short stint in the new series, which will have the original series creator Chris Carter involved:

“I’m assuming that it will happen sooner rather than later now. We’ll see what form and how many. Certainly I can’t, nor would I be interested in, doing a full season. It will be in some kind of limited form. We’re all old, we don’t have the energy for a full season.”

We are still awaiting official confirmation that the shows has been green lighted, but it certainly seems like those who are desperate for another season may get their wish granted. The truth is out there…
