Sony Pictures Classics (via Entertainment Weekly) has revealed a new trailer for the Hank Williams biopic I SAW THE LIGHT, which sees Tom Hiddleston take on the role of country singer, Hank Williams.
I SAW THE LIGHT is the story of the legendary country western singer Hank Williams, who in his brief life created one of the greatest bodies of work in American music. The film chronicles his meteoric rise to fame and its ultimately tragic effect on his health and personal life.
The film has been written and directed by Marc Abraham and is based on Colin Escott’s award-winning biography. I SAW THE LIGHT stars Tom Hiddleston, Elizabeth Olsen, Bradley Whitford, David Krumholtz and Cherry Jones.
Originally, the film was supposed to be released in this November, however due to Hiddleston’s filming commitments for his new movie SKULL ISLAND, the release date has been pushed back to spring 2016. This allows the actor to be free to promote the movie which he filmed at the end of 2014 and earlier this year.
I SAW THE LIGHT is scheduled for release March 25th, 2016
