Entertainment One has released the official trailer and poster for the upcoming EVERYBODY WANTS SOME, which you can watch in the video player above.
The first trailer has dropped for Richard Linklater‘s EVERYBODY WANTS SOME; the “spiritual sequel” to DAZED AND CONFUSED relocated to the 1980s.
Unfortuately for many fans, Matthew McConaughey has not reprised his role as Wooderson, his defining feature debut role and the origins of “alright, alright, alright”, however, he will not be in the latest offering. Linklater’s has stuck to his guns when it comes to revisiting DAZED’s original vibe; instead he has stuck with a younger generation of actors who are largely unknown. In EVERYBODY WANTS SOME, Zoey Dutch, Glen Powell, Tyler Hoechlin, and Ryan Guzman are all on board with the project.
The original film, DAZED AND CONFUSED told the story of a set of 1970s teens planning their summers after their last day of school, however, EVERYBODY WANTS SOME is set in the world of 1980s college life, which follows a freshman’s first weekend of college, experiencing a fraternity-like lifestyle with his hard-partying teammates as they navigate their way through the freedoms and responsibilities of unsupervised adulthood.
EVERYBODY WANTS SOME lands in cinemas May 13th, 2016.
