Award-winning filmmaker Ryan Coogler’s CREED explores a new chapter in the Rocky story and stars Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone in his iconic role.

The film also reunites Coogler with his FRUITVALE STATION star Michael B. Jordan. This was a superb film and an amazing collaboration between the duo and if you haven’t watched it, you really should. (You can read our full review here.)

The trailer for CREED opens with a muscular boxer preparing for a bout in a rundown basement – when he turns to the camera we see he is sporting Carl Weathers iconic moustache.

Creed

You not built for this… these boys come in here, they gotta fight for life,’ a aged trainer tells the young fighter. ‘People die in the ring. Your daddy died in the ring.’

Apollo was killed in Rocky IV in an exhibition match with the Soviet Olympic boxer Ivan Drago, played by Dolph Lundgren.

The clip shows Apollo’s widow Mary Anne, now played by Phylicia Rashad, who also portrayed Clair Huxtable in The Cosby Show; while SELMA star Tessa Thompson plays Adonis’ love interest Bianca.
