The Pyramid

Twentieth Century Fox has released a brand new featurette discussing the Egyptian mythology featured in the upcoming horror THE PYRAMID.

The film is the latest horror movie of Alexandre Aja (HILLS HAVE EYES, HORNS) – though the famed horror filmmaker is only in a producing capacity this time. Sitting in the director’s chair is Grégory Levasseur, who has been the writer of many of Aja’s films, including HIGH TENSION, THE HILLS HAVE EYES and MIRRORS. It’s Levasseur’s directorial debut, but the experience in the genre is definitely there, and with Aja pitching in, expectations should be set high.

THE PYRAMID follows a cast of characters, U.S. archaeologists, who enter a newfound pyramid in the Egyptian desert. However, as they begin exploring the labyrinthine structure, they quickly realize that what they are actually standing in is a sort of prison – and what that prison is keeping trapped inside is something more nightmarish than any of the explorers could’ve imagined. The evils of ancient Egypt are not dead yet. As they unlock the horrific secrets buried within, they realize they aren’t just trapped, they are being hunted.

THE PYRAMID will be released in the UK on 5th December 2014.
