Twentieth Century Fox has released the official red band trailer and stills for WHY HIM? Take a look at the footage in the video player above.

WHY HIM? stars James Franco and Bryan Cranston. The film has been directed by John Hamburg and produced by Shawn Levy, Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill and Dan Levine.

Over the holidays, Ned (Cranston), an overprotective but loving dad and his family visit his daughter (Deutch) at Stanford, where he meets his biggest nightmare: her well-meaning but socially awkward Silicon Valley billionaire boyfriend, Laird (Franco). The straight-laced Ned thinks Laird, who has absolutely no filter, is a wildly inappropriate match for his daughter. The one-sided rivalry-and Ned’s panic level-escalate when he finds himself increasingly out of step in the glamorous high-tech hub, and learns that Laird is about to pop the question.

Why Him?

It is not the first time that Cranston and Franco have worked together as they previously teamed for the John Steinbeck adaptation IN DUBIOUS BATTLE.

WHY US? also stars Robert Duvall, Ed Harris, Vincent D’Onofrio, Danny McBride and Selena Gomez. No official release date has been announced just yet, but it is expected to hit cinemas later this year.
