Complicated, troubled and distant. We get a good look at Robert Downey Jr.’s complex character.

Ahead of the cinema release of THE JUDGE this Friday, October 17th, Warner Bros. has released three clips from the film.

Robert Downey Jr. is back on the big screen this week in the much-anticipated film THE JUDGE.

Directed by WEDDING CRASHERS’ David Dobkin, THE JUDGE follows big shot lawyer Hank Palmer (Downey Jr.) who reluctantly returns to his childhood home in small town Indiana when his mother dies. There, he discovers that his estranged father (Robert Duvall), the town’s judge, is being investigated for murder.

Having left his family years ago, the icy lawyer now finds himself having to reconnect with the man he’s tried to avoid. Frosty initial relations eventually give way to more of an understanding as better memories flow, but there’s also the small matter of keeping dad from going to jail.

If the trailer isn’t enough to tempt your fancy, here are the three clips, which the lovely people at Warner Bros have released:

The Judge – ‘Did You Go To Law School’ Clip – Official Warner Bros. UK

The Judge – ‘Wooden Nickel’ Clip – Official Warner Bros. UK

The Judge – ‘I Need My Walk’ Clip – Official Warner Bros. UK

Starring alongside Downey and Duvall are Vera Farmiga, Billy Bob Thornton, Vincent D’Onofrio, Dax Shepard, Jeremy Strong, Melissa Leo, Leighton Meester, David Krumholtz and Sarah Lancaster.

As always, Downey Jr. can do no wrong and the film looks great, but you’ll get the chance to judge decide for yourselves when THE JUDGE hits UK cinemas on October 17th.
