Over the thirty-nine minutes, Gates takes us within the backdrop of centuries of fascinating information, be it the true classic character of Dracula, immortalised in Bram Stoker’s oft-adapted and filmed story, or even more contemporary context like the despicable acts of men like Ed Gein and Jeffrey Dahmer who have become serial killer legends and the source material for films like PSYCHO (1960), DERANGED (1974) and THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE (1974)
This is a workmanlike documentary, assured and competently filmed, with some interesting facts on show if you are somebody not too familiar with the horror context or genre and there is something of value to historians and students.
