UNHINGED will be one of the first films to hit cinemas this summer

As cinemas reopen across the UK and Ireland this Summer, Altitude are pleased to share the new UK trailer for Academy and BAFTA Award-winner Russell Crowe’s highly anticipated, explosive new thriller UNHINGED from Solstice Studios, hitting the big screen from 31 July.

Originally, the film was scheduled for release on July 17th, but it has since been rescheduled for two weeks later – that’s not bad considering some films have been delayed by months. The film looks super, but we can wait the extra couple of weeks… just about!

The film stars Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe and Caren Pistorius. The film’s release date has now been officially confirmed and we are excited about the release of this one. If you haven’t yet seen the new trailer for the movie, then feast your eyes on the footage in the video player below:

There’s no holding back in the 1-minute-36-seconds trailer for the movie and it’s very obvious after watching that while they chose the title UNHINGED for the movie because Russell Crowe’s character really is with is his road rage – bad day or not!

It takes an ordinary, everyday incident to its most terrifying conclusion in telling the story of a mother who leans on her horn at the wrong time, to the wrong guy. “Road rage” doesn’t begin to describe what he’s about to do to her and everyone she knows.

The psychological thriller has been directed by Derrick Borte (LONDON TOWN, AMERICAN DREAMER) bringing to life a script penned by Carl Ellsworth (RED EYE, DISTURBIA).

Many may be wondering why the release date has been brought forward when so many other films are being rescheduled for a later date. However, according to the company, the decision has been made largely based on a poll carried out in America on  more than 1000 moviegoers that revealed that more than 80% want to go out to the cinema in July.

Many other countries around the world have announced that their cinemas will be opening, including Australia, China, The Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Taiwan. In the UK, the government announced this week that they hope to have cinemas open by July, depending on how well it manages to contain the disease.
