Over the years we have fallen in love with all of the characters from the TOY STORY franchise and now love will feature as a heavy theme in TOY STORY 4…
It has been revealed that the new film will not be a direct continuation from the previous three films as confirmed by Pixar president Jim Morris who confirmed that the upcoming fourth film from Pixar and Disney will be a romantic comedy that is separate from the original trilogy.
“It’s not a continuation of the end of the story of Toy Story 3,” Morris told Disney Latino. “Temporarily it is, but it will be a love story. It will be a romantic comedy. It will not put much focus on the interaction between the characters and children. I think it will be a very good movie.”
Fans of the originals movies do not need to worry that it will veer to far away from what they are used to as it is not a ploy to ‘exploit them for money’:Morris also reassured fans that Pixar’s sequels are only made if they are passionate about the idea, rather than “exploiting them for money”.
“That’s not what it’s about,” Morris said. “It’s about an idea that is met with enthusiasm.”
The film will once again see John Lasseter on director duties and was very excited by the new idea which came up and he knew he had to make it into another movie:
“We love these characters so much; they are like family to us,” he said last year. “We don’t want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what’s gone before.”
We still have a long time to wait until TOY STORY 4 arrives on the big screen as its release dates is slated for July 14th, 2017.
