It was only three months ago that we saw the first trailer for CRIMSON PEAK and now 12 weeks later, we can’t avert our eyes from the screen after the release of the new trailer.

We only have five months until Guillermo del Toro‘s CRIMSON PEAK lands in cinemas and it certainly is a rather raunchy affair courtesy of glimpses of seeing Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska between the sheets in the bedroom… we can practically hear the sighs of Tom Hiddleston fans across the world!

This second trailer boasts further peaks peeks (sorry, we couldn’t resist!) into the captivating and terrifying new world the PAN’S LABYRINTH and PACIFIC RIM director has alluringly conjured up. There is no surprise to see an astonishing set design, exquisite wardrobe and the use of colours is striking as always.

Set in the early 1900s, CRIMSON PEAK revolves around an idealistic young author Edith (Wasikowska) who’s torn between the love of two very different men: Trusted childhood friend Alan McMichael (PACIFIC RIM’s Charlie Hunnam) and intriguing outsider Sir Thomas Sharpe (Hiddleston). The mysteriousness of the latter comes with the ominous presence of his sister Lady Lucille Sharpe (Jessica Chastain). Edith’s choice unknowingly leads her into an actual house of horrors, one that breathes and bleeds.

As one may have already guessed, there are a few more residents in the house than the mere mortals already mentioned, but also it would seem that Sir Thomas and Lady Lucille have some sinister motive for bringing Edith into their home…

It looks passionate, scary and based on all that red, it seems as though it will end up being a rather gruesome and bloody affair.

CRIMSON PEAK will be lighting up cinemas (no doubt in red) October 16th, 2015.
