Avengers stars and best buds, Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch were reunited today in London for the Wimbledon final between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
The two actors were seated together in the Royal Box with Benedict’s wife, Sophie Hunter between them. The actors, who play Loki and Doctor Strange respectively in the hit Marvel franchise, looked fully engrossed and entertained in the epic Men’s Final match on Centre Court, which saw Serbian world number one Djokovic edge out the crowd favourite, Federer in thrilling style. The actors were fully engaged in the match which lasted for five sets over a thrilling five-set match, which Djokovic won 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 13-12 (7-3).
Hiddleston and Cumberbatch have been friends since they met and worked together back in 2011 for the movie WAR HORE and have since continued to work together in the Marvel Universe in their Avengers roles.Â
The Marvel stars were joined in the Royal Box by former champions Rod Laver, Stefan Edberg and Manolo Santana to name but a few. Also in attendance with other famous faces including Woody Harrelson, Claire Foy, Gemma Arterton, Kendall Jenner, Brooklyn Beckham and of course, the royals, Prince William and Kate Middleton were also happily seated for the match, with the Duchess of Cambridge presenting the trophies.
Tom Hiddleston can next be seen on the stage on Broadway in New York where he is reprising his role in Harold Pinter’s play BETRAYAL after a successful West End run this year in London. Disney is developing multiple limited series featuring characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Loki and Scarlet Witch being two of the shows in development. Both Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen are expected to reprise their roles for their respective series.
Benedict Cumberbatch Marvel’s Doctor Strange was released over two years ago and recently Kevin Feige has revealed that a sequel was definitely in the cards, but it hasn’t been formally announced.
