Thor

We already know that the third film in the THOR franchise of the Marvel series is to be titled THOR: RAGNAROK and now the film may have found its director…

Taika Waititi, who co-wrote and co-directed the vampire spoof WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, is in negotiations to direct the latest outing of Marvel’s Thor movies and after a series of meetings, it seems as though Waititi will be the next man to help the latest film in the franchise.

His name was thrown into the mix amongst a series of other contenders including Ruben Fleischer, Rob Letterman and Rawson Marshall Thurber who were the other directors that were on the shortlist for the project.

We can certainly expect the film to keep its comedic elements with Waititi on board, as he is best known for his comedic work — co-starring with Jemaine Clement in WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, the well-regarded vampire parody that debuted at Sundance.

He also wrote and directed episodes of FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS and is a writer on Disney’s upcoming animated feature MOANA, which will star Dwayne Johnson.

Of course, THOR would not be the same without its leading man and his swinging hammer and for fans of the franchise, the good news is that Chris Hemsworth is reprising his role of the Norse god of thunder and it is expected that his best pal Tom Hiddleston will likely be involved as Loki once again.
