The highly acclaimed London Rolling Film Festival (LRFF) announces its 2022 edition Winners.

The only, and pioneering, film festival with a condition that filmmakers be present on the
big night was back in full force on Sunday with a brand new location, a great line-up of
films and dazzling red carpet moments.

After the last edition was held online due to the restrictions imposed due to Covid-19, the
London Rolling Film Festival returned with a vengeance, celebrating its 12th edition at the VUE Cinema in Piccadilly on Sunday, August 14.

Introducing a unique concept where the professionals involved in making the selected
short films are required to attend turns the event into a valuable opportunity for friendly
connection and exchange of ideas between like-minded souls.

Actress and Producer Andreea Helen David said on her Instagram profile:

“What a wonderful event! The perfect event for the film industry I would say”.

Founder and director Alida Pantone said the networking component of the festival is the most enticing and important aspect of the London Rolling Film Festival.
“Allowing emerging filmmakers to create that network of knowledge essential to grow their
projects has always been at the heart of the Festival,” she said.
“This is why I have always tried to attract an audience of film industry enthusiasts and
professionals at all levels, whether they be investors, directors, producers, costume
designers, actors, machinists or viewers. This is what makes the LRFF unique.”

The Jury this year was chaired by Lionsgate’s Senior Theatrical Sales Manager Paul Sophocli, who was joined by director and producer Luisa Pretolani, investor Stephen Cooper Reade, Producer Natasha Marburgher and Director Tom Paton.

Several prestigious guests, professionals from the world of cinema and television, have
taken part during the various editions of the Festival and this year was no exception with
acclaimed documentary producer Mike Smith chairing the panel on “How to create a
successful pitch”.

Mr Smith is a documentary producer for the BBC, Channel 4, Channel
5, ITV, Smithsonian Channel and PBS and has been nominated for two Grierson Awards for One Thousand Years a Slave and Ashley Banjo: Britain in Black & White.

During the closing ceremony, presenter Rachele Fregonese and Festival Director Alida
Pantone, together with their team of international volunteers (including 2 Ukraine refugee
actresses) joined stage with the jurors and announced the winners out of the 12 films in
Competition:

The traditional Audience Award went to “Backseat Driver” By Jake Balfour-Lynn.
Winner of the Best Short Film, Faith Elizabeth, said the festival atmosphere was the best she’d experienced and was ecstatic for her film to be chosen by a group of her own peers.
“It was not only a huge honour to screen at LRFF at the iconic Vue Cinema in Piccadilly
Circus, but the festival itself was also outstanding! The atmosphere was electric, there was
an amazing buzz and there was such a high calibre of films screening! I am so grateful to
the jury for awarding My Baby Cries with Best Film, it’s a huge achievement to receive this
honour from such an accomplished panel of professionals.

I also really loved how inclusive the festival was, and how they offered opportunities to
interns, from Ukraine and other parts of the world, to learn and gain festival experience
and connections. After 19 Official Selections so far, LRFF was my absolute favourite festival experience so far! A perfect mixture of quality films, professional panels, networking and topped off with picking up two awards!”

The LRFF has been heralded as an emerging player in the competitive field of film
festivals with its 12th edition receiving rave reviews in the press and social media. Director Deyan Angelov from Bulgaria, in competition with his film “Task”, said on his five star review on FilmFreeway “you get every chance to meet, talk to, and show who you are to everyone in attendance, including highly experienced professionals. My advice is not to miss this one; so many good things in one well-organized event.”

Attendee and industry professional Helen Oakleigh shared on her social media: “Huge respect to Alida Pantone for bringing The London Rolling Film Festival to the West End this year and to the epic filmmakers, the talent was huge!”
Actor/Director Jake Francis said on his social media: “always an amazing event to go to, and it keeps getting bigger & bigger!”
