The wait is over, Thor fans! The first teaser trailer has landed for Marvel’s next big blockbuster,THOR: RAGNAROK, which has been debuted by the film’s director, Taika Waititi. Take a look at the footage in the video player above.

Taika Waititi, the man calling the shots on the latest installment took to Twitter on Monday after to unveil the teaser trailer – and considering it is a teaser, we certainly get to see a lot of footage during the 2-and-a-half-minute long feature. Not that we are complaining! It looks fun, bonkers and seems to have bags of energy, so we can’t wait to see more of this – and of course of Thor sporting a shorter hairdo too!

Back in action for this one is Chris Hemsworth as the titular hero, whilst speaking to the audience, evoking the familiar “I know what you’re thinking. How did this happen?” Despite the pickle he is in at this point, we think he is referring to his cropped hair here, rather than the big chains!

Then we hear the sounds of Led Zeppelin‘s “Immigrant Song” kicking in, and we see Thor’s villainous vixen of a rival, Hela, snatch his hammer straight out of the air. Cate Blanchett is almost unrecognisable in her black leathers, dark hair and heavy makeup, but she sure does look the part. She certainly looks like she’s giving the hero a run for his money in the teaser!

Thor: Ragnarok

In the trailer, we see Thor on the brink of death – and ends with him facing off against his friend the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). It is great to have him making an appearance in THOR too.

With Asgard “dead” and Thor’s home facing chaos as it falls into destruction he will certainly be hoping he gets hold of his m=hammer soon to rectify the situation!

The long-haired-now-short-haired hero is being held captive by Jeff Goldblum‘s Grandmaster and forced to fight like a gladiator on Sakaar, another alien planet against his friend the Hulk. (Not that Hulk seems to perplexed by this!)

Thor: Ragnarok

Of course, you can’t think about Thor without his adopted brother, Loki, who is also in up to his usual cunning tricks from what we can see and it is good to see Tom Hiddleston back in that role once more, as he look eagerly on at the dual with his usual intrigue.

Thor: Ragnarok

The film certainly pulls out all of the stops with its casting as Idris Elba, and Anthony Hopkins are reprising their roles again and Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban also star in THOR: RAGNAROK. We are definitely loving Mr Elba’s outfit in this one!
