The Outpost stars Orlando Bloom and Scott Eastwood

Screen Media Films has released the official trailer for director Rod Lurie’s forthcoming war drama film THE OUTPOST has been released, giving us a preview of the most heroic battle of the Afghanistan war. Take a look at the footage in the video player below: 

The movie stars Orlando Bloom and Scott Eastwood and will arrive in cinemas and on VOD on Friday, July 3rd. 

Based on true events, in this military thriller, a small unit of U.S. soldiers, alone at the remote Combat Outpost Keating, located deep in the valley of three mountains in Afghanistan, battles to defend against an overwhelming force of Taliban fighters in a coordinated attack. The Battle of Kamdesh, as it was known, was the bloodiest American engagement of the Afghan War in 2009 and Bravo Troop 3-61 CAV became one of the most decorated units of the 19-year conflict.

The Outpost is based on The New York Times best-selling non-fiction book, The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor from CNN’s Jake Tapper.

THE OUTPOST stars Scott Eastwood (Pacific Rim: Uprising), Caleb Landry Jones (Get Out), Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings), Jack Kesy (Without Remorse), Taylor John Smith (Hunter Killer), Jacob Scipio (Bad Boys for Life), and Milo Gibson (Hacksaw Ridge).

Scott Eastwood took to Instagram to share his joy that the trailer has been released, stating: ‘This movie is about remembering those who have paid the ultimate price. In the director’s chair for this one is Rod Lurie (The Contender, The Last Castle) who is bringing to life a script penned by Oscar-nominated duo Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson (The Fighter). The film is produced by Millennium Media with Paul Merryman, Marc Frydman, Jeffrey Greenstein, Jonathan Yunger, Tamasy, and Les Weldon, with Avi Lerner, Jake Tapper, Trevor Short, Johson, Boaz Davidson, Robert Van Norden, John Kalafatis, Mark Rhino Smith, and Tommy Vlahopoulos executive producing.
