The Old Guard: Netflix has unveiled the official trailer

The Old Guard is due for release on Netflix on July 10th, 2020

There’s a treat in store for indie comic book enthusiasts, as Netflix has released the official trailer for their upcoming original film, THE OLD GUARD. Excited? Great! Then check out the footage in the video player below.

The movie boasts a super cast with Kiki Layne, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Harry Melling, Van Veronica Ngo, Matthias Schoenaerts and Chiwetel Ejiofor all joining Theron in the film.

Led by a warrior named Andy (Charlize Theron), a covert group of tight-knit mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die have fought to protect the mortal world for centuries. But when the team is recruited to take on an emergency mission and their extraordinary abilities are suddenly exposed, it’s up to Andy and Nile (Kiki Layne), the newest soldier to join their ranks, to help the group eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate and monetize their power by any means necessary.

Based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Greg Rucka and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (LOVE & BASKETBALL, BEYOND THE LIGHTS), THE OLD GUARD is a gritty, grounded, action-packed story that shows living forever is harder than it looks. Theron is on double duty for this one, as she is also producing the flick alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, AJ Dix, Beth Kono and Marc Evans.

Theron does not shy away from her kick-ass roles, having previously starred as Lorraine Broughton for David Leitch‘s ATOMIC BLONDE, an adaptation of of the Oni Press graphic novel series The Coldest City by Anthony Johnston with art by Sam Hart. In the film, Theron performed some super fight sequences, so we are expecting great things from her as Andy.
