As some productions around the world are starting to green light production on their paused films since COVID-19 struck, it seems Hollywood is also starting to make their plans for big projects to commence filming and MATRIX 4 is one of those films.

According to Deadline, this highly anticipated MATRIX 4 is looking at rolling the cameras once more early in July, as Warner Bros./Village Roadshow’s movie is looking to return to production in Berlin, Germany.

It is also believed that the cast signed has signed an eight-week extension to keep the actors on hold until July 6th. Production on the third Matrix sequel kicked off back in February, but was soon suspended only weeks into filming.

Lana Wachowski co-wrote the script with Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell, and is in the director’s chair for this one too. Academy-Award winning cinematographer John Toll (Legends of the Fall, Braveheart) will shoot the highly-anticipated sequel, succeeding Bill Pope who was the cinematographer for THE MATRIX trilogy.

There is very little information known about the plot for the film and it is difficult to predict where they will go with the story.

MATRIX 4 stars Keanu Reeves, Jada Pinkett Smith (Niobe) as well as newcomers Priyanka Chopra, Jessica Henwick, Ibarra, Neil Patrick Harris, Toby Onwumere, Brian J. Smith,  Eréndira Ibarra, Andrew Caldwell and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who is rumored to be playing young Morpheus.

THE MATRIX trilogy has amassed over $1.6 billion at the global box office and with the possible success of MATRIX 4, there is no doubt that number will significantly increase.
