Following its debut at New York Comic Con, Universal Pictures and Legendary have shared a brand new trailer for the highly anticipated, upcoming title, THE GREAT WALL. Take a look at the superb footage in the video player above.
The upcoming movie has been directed by one of the most breathtaking visual stylists of our time, Zhang Yimou (Hero, House of Flying Daggers). THE GREAT WALL tells the story of an elite force making a valiant stand for humanity on the world’s most iconic structure. The first English-language production for Yimou is the largest film ever shot entirely in China.Â
The trailer doesn’t give too much of the plot away, but certainly looks to have the explosive thriller elements, which are in a very different style and role to what we are use to seeing Damon play. With the film not hitting the big screen until next year, there will be plenty of time to tease us with more glimpses from the movie in the future.
The £100 million-plus blockbuster promises breathtaking visuals (check out those dragons!) and a stunning cinematic realisation of China’s most famous landmark.Â
THE GREAT WALL also stars Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe and Andy Lau.Â
THE GREAT WALL will be released in UK cinemas February 24th 2017.
