Suicide Squad

On days like today, we are more grateful than ever for the invention of social media, as now we can squeal with excitement over the first picture of the full cast of the SUICIDE SQUAD.

The cast has assembled and DC’s dysfunctional team of supervillains have been plonked together for their first shot as a group after months of us writing news stories, as we were drip-fed information about each person who had been cast in a role.

For this all-smiles photo, we can thank writer-director David Ayer who took to social media to tweet out the image at the cast read through:

Talk about teasing us!

Well, we say it is the full cast – but it is almost – Jared Leto, who’ll be playing the Joker was absent due to his commitments to his band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, who are currently on tour.

However, we are certainly thrilled to see the cast read through pretty full with many of the actors there for script reading duties, including Will Smith (Deadshot), Joel Kinnamen (Rick Flag), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Boomerang), and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), along with a few others whose roles haven’t been disclosed, including Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Adam Beach, and Ike Barinholtz.

SUICIDE SQUAD is scheduled for release August 5th, 2016.
