Netflix has released the official teaser trailer for The Crown season 3. We have been waiting to feast our eyes on this for some time and now our wait is over. Check out the footage in the video player below:

As the new season will shortly get underway, it has been previously announced that Gillian Anderson has joined the new season of The Crown as the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Margaret Thatcher. The actress who previously starred in THE X-FILES has boarded the show alongside Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II. The casting announcement was revealed on social media via Twitter.

The third season of The Crown sees a new guard sweep into Downing Street. It covers the years 1964-1977 with the screenplay penned by Peter Morgan. In the new series, we see Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman) and her family struggle to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing Britain. From cold-war paranoia, through to the jet-set and the space age – the exuberance of the 1960s and the long hangover of the 1970s – Elizabeth and the Royals must adapt to a new, more liberated, but also more turbulent world.
