Ahead of its opening in July, StudioCanal has released the new poster and trailer for the Oscar-nominated SONG OF THE SEA, which you can watch below.
Directed by Cartoon Saloon’s Tomm Moore, and based around the legend of the Selkies, SONG OF THE SEA tells the story of Ben and his little sister Saoirse – the last Seal-child – who embark on a fantastic journey across a fading world of ancient legend and magic in an attempt to return to their home by the sea. The film takes inspiration from the mythological Selkies of Irish folklore, who live as seals in the sea but become humans on land.
The film features the voices of Lucy O’Connell, David Rawle, Lisa Hannigan, Brendan Gleeson, Fionnula Flanagan, Jon Kenny, Pat Shortt, Liam Hourican and Colm Ó Snodaigh.
Moore also directed Cartoon Saloon’s Oscar-nominated THE SECRET OF KELLS.
SONG OF THE SEA will arrive in cinemas July 10th, 2015.
