suffragette

The first teaser trailer for SUFFRAGETTE has been released to coincide with the upcoming general election and encourage British women to vote.

The film stars Carey Mulligan and Helena Bonham Carter as women fighting for their right to vote while Meryl Streep plays iconic political activist Emmeline Pankhurst. The teaser has been created to help promote an initiative to get more people voting in the General Election on May 7th.

Film company Pathe are supporting this drive with this clip from the hotly-awaited historical drama from Sarah Gavron.

Suffragette is the first film to have been allowed access to the Houses of Parliament for scenes involving Streep, who is rumoured to have a rousing speech at a keynote rally.

The film also stars Brendan Gleeson, Anne-Marie Duff and Ben Whishaw.
