Spooks

Fans of the TV series SPOOKS will be very happy to hear this news – SPOOKS: THE GREATER GOOD has unveiled a pair of first-look posters and the first official trailer finally arrives on Thursday morning.

The artwork for the spy thriller, based on the BBC and Kudos Film and Television’s long-running TV series, shows GAME OF THRONES star Kit Harington and SPOOKS veteran Peter Firth as Will Holloway and Harry Pearce.

The storyline focuses on Pearce being forced to resign after high-profile terrorist Adam Qasim (Elyes Gabel) escapes from MI5 custody.

When Pearce disappears off a bridge into the Thames, Harington’s former agent Holloway is drafted in from Moscow to foil a bomb thread from Qasim and uncover the truth surrounding the disappearance of his former mentor.

The popular TV series is making its big leap from a long-running BBC programme to a feature film adaptation.  The movie is written by Jonathan Brackley and Sam Vincent, with regular series director Bharat Nalluri on board once more to helm the feature length thriller.

They will be hoping that SPOOKS: THE GREATER GOOD will be as popular as the show which took the BBC by storm, running for 86 episodes from 2002 to 2011. Over the years it has included an impressive cast who have gone to great movie and TV success, including SELMA’s David Oyelowo, THE HOBBIT’S Richard Armitage and also Matthew Macfadyen, Keeley Hawes, Jenny Agutter, Rupert Penry Jones, Sophia Myles and Lara Pulver to name but a few of the actors who starred in the series, known as MI-5 in the US over the successful ten years of the show.

This movie will be the first time that we get to see Kit Harington in a contemporary role after his appearance as Jon Snow in GAME OF THRONES, a fallen war soldier in the film TESTAMENT OF YOUTH and as Milo in volcano movie POMPEII.

The trailer lands early Thursday morning and we can’t wait to see the high-octane action we hope it brings!

SPOOKS: THE GREATER GOOD arrives in cinemas May 8th.
