Sir Roger Moore has hit back at claims he made racist comments about Idris Elba.
Moore is to have reportedly said to Paris Match magazine that Idris Elba couldn’t play James Bond because he isn’t “English English“.
“Although James may have been played by a Scot, a Welshman and an Irishman, I think he should be “English-English,” Moore is quoted as saying.Â
“Nevertheless, it’s an interesting idea, but unrealistic.”
However, in a follow-up post on Twitter, Moore shared his take on the reports by tweeting that his comments were mistranslated.
It has been a big week for James Bond news with the first trailer being released for the upcoming 24th movie, SPECTRE starring Daniel Craig.
