Misunderstanding and perceptions are challenged to the forefront in Lisa Datz‘s short drama LIFE OF RILEY.
Riley and Juan Carlos are a seemingly happy couple with a great lifestyle, fantastic home and as much positive chemistry as anyone can muster in the grand scheme of things. A visit to a MoneyGram by Juan Carlos is witnessed by Riley who is bemused by images of large sums of money and a mysterious woman, the suspicions start to happen between the couple. Soon however, the reality and truth of why that has transpired come to the fore in a shocking twist….
Datz has created a fantastic short-form drama which evokes memories of classic culture clash dramas and the power of consequence, implication and suggestion without resorting to explicit visuals and violence. A stirring multi-faceted story helped along by a straight-forward and straight-talking script.

Lisa Datz (Director, Writer, Actor, Producer) Lisa Datz is a multifaceted talent in entertainment, known for Broadway Hits like ‘TITANIC‘ and ‘THE FULL MONTY‘, and Off-Broadway as ‘Yitzhak’ in ‘HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH‘.
She’s graced TV screens, some highlights include ‘FBI: MOST WANTED‘, ‘ELEMENTARY‘ and films like ‘THE PERFECT HOLIDAY‘. For her role as Jessica LeClerk in ‘RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2‘, she’s recognized in the video gaming world. Her directorial debut, ‘LIFE OF RILEY‘ is continuing to receive festival praise.
Formerly a competitive skater, she loves hip-hop dance, horseback riding and European travel, splitting her time between Los Angeles and New York.
