Avengers: Infinity War

It looks as though Marvel directors Anthony and Joe Russo may have just signed on for their next big project – AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR.

We all know that sadly Joss Whedon will not helm another Avengers film from the Marvel franchise after AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, but now there is already speculation as to who will sit in the directors chair..

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER proved to be a big success and with the Russo brothers bringing CIVIL WAR to the big screen, it would make sense to have them on board with Part 1 and Part 2 of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and according to Badass Digest they have already signed on the dotted line.

“The deal is done,” they said. “Expect an announcement soon… I first reported this to you guys back in November, and now I can tell you it’s come to pass: Joe and Anthony Russo will follow up Captain America: Civil War by graduating to Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2.”

As popular choices in Hollywood, it is no surprise to see their names attached to the latest instalment from the franchise. They have already been linked to the upcoming SPIDER-MAN movie, as well as the new, 2017 GHOSTBUSTERS film, but the questions remains – how likely is it that they will take on all of the different movies?

Further reports from /Film have heard that the Russos are indeed keen to work on INFINITY WAR:

“We’d heard the Russos were clamoring to do Avengers 3 and 4 after Civil War and Marvel loved the idea,” they explained. “In fact, everyone was pretty much certain about it since Joss Whedon is done with directing Avengers movies after Age of Ultron.”

Hopefully over the coming weeks there will be further confirmations about their involvement.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR arrives in cinemas on April 27th, 2018.
