The directors of AVENGERS: ENDGAME, Joe and Anthony Russo have penned a plea to Marvel fans to not share or reveal any spoilers for the upcoming movie.
The duo took to social media to address ‘the greatest fans in the world.’ They wanted to share how much hard work they have put into making the film over the last three years stating: ‘Please know that the two of us, along with everyone involved in Endgame, have worked tirelessly for the last three years with the sole intention of delivering a surprising and emotionally powerful conclusion to the Infinity Saga.’
They continued, ‘When you see Endgame in the coming weeks, please don’t spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn’t want it spoiled for you.’
The directors then finished with, ‘Remember, Thanos still demands your silence.’ Take a look at the letter in full below:
Earlier today, we also saw a new trailer with a few new snippets of footage along with “whatever it takes” status, a trip down memory lane of all previous 21 Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and a lovely final shot with the surviving superheroes at Avengers HQ in their Quantum Realm suits… please pass us another tissue!
Last year’s Avengers: Infinity War saw the titular superhero team take the fight to Thanos in order to stop his quest of exterminating half of the universe’s population with the Infinity stones, but it was to no avail, as he was able to successfully collect them all and snap his fingers, wiping out half of everyone from existence in a cloud of ash, including Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), King T’Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Groot (Vin Diesel), Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Mantis (Pom Klementief), Drax (Dave Bautista), Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), as well as Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Hope van Dyne/Wasp (Evangeline Lily), Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), though Fury was able to send a signal to Captain Marvel (Brie Larson).
Having lost so many popular cast members at the end of INFINITY WAR was so devastating, however ENDGAME will see the return of many familiar faces. Confirmed cast members for the untitled fourth Avengers film so far include Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olson, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Sebastian Stan, Don Cheadle, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Pom Klementieff, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Sean Gunn, Tom Holland, Paul Rudd, Jon Favreau, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Evangeline Lilly, Katherine Langford and Josh Brolin.
