Hollywood blockbusters light up the cinema box office and get the tills ringing. Thanks to the work of great directors, fabulous trailers, interesting plots and a mountain of publicity, the audience is pulled into the cinema to watch the next intriguing hit. However, usually the biggest pulling power is the cast signed on to the project. They are the ones who often draw in the crowds and get the film takings flowing – which is the exact reason they urn so much money in the world of movies.
In the latest Forbes 2015 list of the world’s highest-paid actors profiles, we have learnt who the highest paid actors are and the 34 actors hail from seven countries and earned a combined $941 million in the last fiscal year.
Topping the list is IRON MAN himself, Robert Downey Jr. who has proven to be a rather expensive casting addition and tops the list.
With an $80 million salary, Downey is the highest paid actor in the world for the third consecutive year and has the highest recorded annual payday of all time. His earning are still $30 million dollars ahead of Jackie Chan with $50 million.
Six of the top 10 stars are from the U.S., including the third highest earner, Vin Diesel, who hauled $47 million thanks to FURIOUS 7.
Bradley Cooper came in at No. 4 with $41.5 million. Cooper starred in and co-produced Clint Eastwood’s Iraq War drama AMERICAN SNIPER this year.
Adam Sandler is next in line ranked at No. 5 with $41 million. He has four movies on the way through an exclusive deal with Netflix.
It is no surprise to see Tom Cruise on the list in sixth position with a $40 million payday, thanks to upfront fees for MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE — ROGUE NATION and last year’s EDGE OF TOMORROW. C
Mark Wahlberg rounds out the top 10 with $32 million, thanks to his successes with TED 2, which brought in $168 million, and 2012’s TED which made an unexpected $549 million at the box office.
