You would think Krishnan Guru-Murthy would have learnt his lesson after that awkward shut down with Quentin Tarantino, but the Channel 4 News presenter has managed to get under the skin of yet another Hollywood actor.
Robert Downey Jr. dropped in to the Channel 4 studio to promote his latest film, AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, but the interview took a turn for the worse when the questions got a little too personal.
Drastically shifting the press junket dynamic, Guru-Murthy put IRON MAN aside and honed in on Downey Jr’s stint in prison, drug and alcohol addictions and his relationship with his father. Naturally feeling put out, Downey Jr. remarked, “I’m sorry, I really don’t … what are we doing?” before walking out on the interview.
The outcome of the interview which aired on Channel 4 this evening at 7pm had earlier been hinted at by Guru-Murphy on his Twitter account.
He has since claimed to have had “explicitly” discussed the questions with Downey Jr’s PR prior to the interview.
