Penelope Cruz Joins ‘Zoolander 2’

Ben Stiller’s Zoolander was a surprise cult classic back in 2001, despite box office sales being less than impressive.

Well, Stiller must have done something right because with a high demand from fans – we’re finally getting a Zoolander 2! Turns out, there is more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking.

In the first movie, we saw Stiller play the immensely stupid but strangely heartwarming male-model, Derek. Dimwitted Derek is somehow roped into assassinating the Prime Minister of Malaysia by some less than credible, highly powerful fashion executives, played by the hilarious Will Ferrell. 

With the help of rival, Hansel (he’s so hot right now), played by Owen Wilson and journalist Matilda Jeffries, played by Christine Taylor, Derek must do as much as he can to save the day!

Now, in the sequel, another ridiculously good looking person is on the casting list- none other than VICKY CHRISTINA BARCELONA actress, Penelope Cruz. 

The beautiful Miss Cruz will be joining Stiller once again and Ferrell, who will be returning as the dreaded Mugatu.

Stiller will be back in the director chair, despite initial plans for THE LEFTOVERS star Justin Theroux to direct. Due to scheduling difficulties he has had to bow out, but thankfully he had the time to write the script! 

We’re definitely looking forward to some more model mayhem from Derek and the gang.
