POUTfest
Peccadillo Pictures has announced the line up for its 2015 POUTfest Tour, a curated preview programme of new LGBT features, documentaries and short films, which will be touring around the UK from August 2015.

Supported by the BFI with National Lottery funding, the POUTfest Tour looks to develop and diversify audiences and content around the country. The tour is an important chance to grow national audience for LGBT cinema, with emphasis on providing access for regional audiences who in many cases have not previously been able to enjoy LGBT cinema locally.

Where possible the tour will bring talent from the films to attend screenings as well as Skype Q&As, pre-recorded interviews, additional content and local personalities to come and host panels and discussions around the films.

The titles in the first programme are Sophie Hyde’s Australian transgender drama 52 TUESDAYS (Best Director, Sundance Film Festival and Crystal Bear, Berlinale), British gay tale SOFT LAD from writer/director Leon Lopez (starring leads from Eastenders, Coronation Street & Brookside), lesbian Korean feature A GIRL AT MY DOOR by July Jung (produced by Lee Changdong and premiered Un Certain Regard Cannes Film Festival) and DRESSED AS A GIRL, a sensational documentary looking at the alternative drag circuit in East London.

Peccadillo Pictures will be working closely with Picturehouse, ICO, Vue and Showcase cinemas along with the BFI Film Audience Network around the country for the 2015 POUTfest Tour, getting exhibitors involved with screening the films as well as hosting their own events to run as part of the programme. Education partners Into Film are also working with the tour to promote an educational title on each programme; beginning with 52 TUESDAYS. This partnership will facilitate free screenings around the country for students as well as creating content for classrooms and teachers.

The 2015 POUTfest Tour is working with principal media partners GT and DIVA with support from media partners QX and PLANET UNIVERSE.

Paul Ridd from Picturehouse, our Principle Cinema Partner, has said on the tour: “We are so proud to be supporting this diverse programme of films at our brand new flagship West End venue, Picturehouses across the UK and via our Discover Tuesdays strand. Peccadillo pride themselves on distributing the very best in contemporary Queer Cinema and we have always relished the opportunity to work with them.”

Ben Luxford, BFI’s Head of UK Audiences said:  “POUTfest Tour is an incredibly exciting initiative fuelled by absolute passion and commitment by Peccadillo. With Lottery support we hope to see as many cinemas and circuits pick up and engage with the tour as possible to help reach the widest audience for these extraordinary films.”
