PEAKY BLINDERS is returning to BBC One soon (Sunday August 25th) and us folks in the UK are lucky that we get to watch the fifth series so soon. However, to all of our friends across the pond, don’t worry because the epic gangster show will be on Netflix on October 4th. The BBC have released some first look images that have been released below.

In the preview images of upcoming episodes, which have been released by the BBC, we see series favourite Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby in a tuxedo, and Helen McCrory’s Aunt Polly leaning on a car, which had been released as a teaser earlier in the year.

We also get to feast our eyes on the new characters who are joining the show in series 5. We will meet ME BEFORE YOU star Sam Claflin as British fascist politician Sir Oswald Mosley, seen below in his trademark black shirt. It remains to be seen how Tommy will be involved in Oswald’s movement, as we seen him in the middle of an anti-fascist rally.

We also get a first glimpse at another new cast member – Emmett J Scanlan (Hollyoaks) as Billy Grade, speaking with Finn Shelby and Isiah (Daryl McCormack). Another new addition to the cast is newcomer Anya Taylor-Joy who plays Gina Gray.

Peaky Blinders is set in the lawless streets of Birmingham as it tracks the evolution of leader Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) from backstreet crime lord to legitimate businessman and member of parliament. This new season finds the world thrown into turmoil by the financial crash of 1929. When Tommy Shelby MP is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realizes that his response will impact not only the future of his family but that of the entire nation.
